Life really isn’t so different than that box in the living room.  We all have our dramas, our comedies, and even our own pay-per-view events that we can only watch after the kids are in bed. The soundtrack comes through on our radio, and the action is almost always interrupted by someone trying to sell us something we don’t want let alone need. Other people watch, making their judgments on what we should and should not do. It’s easier to judge someone else’s network than worry about one’s own, after all.

My life has really been no more than that – a bunch of episodes, one right after the other, with the occasional interruptions of commercial breaks or newsflashes.  The real similarity between life and the box, however, is that both require producers and directors to create and control the action. Writers and network owners really don’t have so much control over that.

When I met Aiden and Tony, I found a brilliant director and passionate producer.  Unfortunately, neither one of them seemed able to fulfill both roles.  In the end, I would have to figure out how to direct myself before my inability to do so destroyed us all. ~ Jenna Shale

I always said that Aiden and I were never movie stars. We weren’t ever met to have a happily-ever-after. We were more the fairy-tale-not-to-last type.

That doesn’t mean I didn’t love him or that he didn’t love me. We loved to the point of obsession, but obsession can be a dangerous thing, especially when the writers of life just can’t seem to find any other way to destroy two people.

Life continued to be a lot like the box. Sometimes characters would come and go without incident. Usually, though, a new character changes other characters. Sometimes when that happens, a character who has been around for a long time needs to stand up and take control, reminding everyone what roles they are supposed to be playing and exactly what the truth of all of those past episodes really is. ~ Jenna Castoron.
